Our mission
Get the saved recipe onto the table.
The gap
Everyone has a camera roll of recipes they’ll make someday.
Reels saved to a folder nobody opens. Screenshots. A link in a text thread from three weeks ago. The recipe is rarely the problem. Getting from “saved” to “cooking it tonight” is.
We’re building Thyme to Cook to close that gap in two ways. First, by turning whatever you find into a recipe you can actually cook from. Second, by making that cookbook shared, because most dinners are cooked for or with someone else.
Our mission is simple: more of what people save gets cooked, together.
What we believe
Five things we won’t compromise.
Cooking is the point.
The app should get you to the stove, and then get out of the way. Big type, one step at a time, hands-free when you need it.
A kitchen is shared.
One cookbook, one plan, one list, and a say for everyone who eats.
Credit the cook.
Importing a recipe keeps a link to where it came from and the name of whoever made it. People who share their recipes should be found.
Be honest about the machine.
The AI reads recipes and sometimes gets them wrong. We keep the source beside every recipe, and we say plainly what the allergy check can’t see.
Keep it yours.
Your recipes, your photos and your pantry are yours to export or delete, without asking us.
What we won’t do
Some things a kitchen doesn’t need.
- Show you adsThere is no advertising in the app.
- Sell or share your dataNothing is sold, and nothing is handed to a data broker.
- Track you for advertisingNo advertising trackers, and no analytics service watching what you cook.
- Download videos from linksFrom a link we read the caption. We never fetch the video itself.
- Pretend an app is a doctorThe dietary check is a search of an ingredient list, and it says so every time.
Where we are
Small, independent, and cooking.
Thyme to Cook is a small independent software company with one app. It’s coming first to iPhone and Apple Watch, and it’s being built in the open about what it does with your data.
If you want to hear when it’s ready, have an idea, or found a recipe that broke it, write to hello@thymetocook.co. A person reads it.
